Welcome to our dog House
We have 6 adorable dogs living in our home/office . Its a lot of work but the extra love around the house because of there doggies make up for it and then some.
Volunteering journey
My Brother, sister and me help with feeding strays around the area and sometimes want to feed dogs better hot and fresh food like the ones we make for our doggies at home.
Lost a loved dog to pancreatitis
After growing to love a dog as a family member it was a hard pill to swallow . losing a dog to pancreatits which could have been initiated by feeding dogs home cooked food was unforgivable and was a life changing moment.
On commercial dry pet food all along
Until then, we had been feeding commercial food, namely kibbles, wet canned food to all our dogs at home.
Bald spot
One of the perennial issues we found on our dogs was she had this bald spot on top of her head. We thought it was a scar and her fur could not grow back anymore.
Diarrhea and smelly poop
My dogs poops were also smelly and in large amounts.
some even had diarrhea often! Not a positive sign of good digestion and a proper diet.
Discovering about fresh food
While initially looking out for the best kibbles for our doggies, we stumbled on fresh food and ended up researching the differences between fresh food and the commercial foods that most pet shops sell.
Woah, bald spot no more?
We tried making our own fresh food for Rara. And after a couple of weeks, her bald spot was no more!
Poop becomes better, almost no smell
Amazingly, her poop becomes firmer and easy to pick up. In addition, it no longer has the pungent and strong smell that comes with after days of eating kibbles.
Providing a honest fresh pet food option for dogs
We went back to the drawing board, consulted various veterinary institutions, vets and pet nutritionists (both local and abroad). Over a period of 9 months, we refined our recipes. Dogbowl for dogs then began. 😊
